TECHNIQUES
Crochet chain provisional cast on, cable cast on, I-cord bind off, stranded colorwork

PATTERN OVERVIEW
POSEY begins with a provisional cast on. A lining is worked for the brim in a series of stripes to balance the yarn usage between the colors. After a purl turning round, the outer brim is worked in colorwork patterns, then the provisional stitches are returned to a second needle and the lining and brim are knit together into a single layer. I-Cord Bind Off is added for a decorative welt and additional structure. Stitches for the crown are picked up from the brim and worked in banded colorwork patterns with flower-like motifs at the crown.

NOTE: Knitters choice as to whether to carry colors up or break and weave in.
