NAIRN is a densely knit cabled hat with choice of folded rib brim or a matching cabled brim. Deeply textured interlocking cables and plump yarn make for a truly windproof hat.

YARN
Version I: 250 yards of worsted weight yarn
Version II: 275 yards of worsted weight yarn
Yardage guidelines add 10% to what the samples required to account for differences in knitting style and yarn choice

Samples shown in Yarn Collective Hudson (85% merino, 15% yak; 197 yd 180 m/3 ½ oz 100 g)
Version I: Emerald (#409), 2 skeins, ( sample used 225 yds)
Version II: Charcoal (#403), 2 skeins, ( sample used 252 yds)

26 stitches and 26 rounds = 4” in charted pattern on Main Fabric Needle (size US 8), after blocking

NEEDLES
For Version I (Ribbed Brim)
Main Fabric Needle: One 16” circular and one set of double-pointed needles (dpn) in size needed to obtain gauge
Suggested size: US 8 (5.0 mm)

Ribbing Needle: One circular or set of dpn two sizes smaller than Main Fabric Needle
Suggested size: US 6 (4.0 mm)

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge

For Version II (Cabled Brim)
