Approximately 250 yards of fingering weight yarn
1 skein Quince & Co. Piper (50% superfine Texas merino, 50% super kid Texas mohair; 305 yd/50g)
Sample shown in Abilene (Color 602)

GAUGE
36 sts and 48 rnds = 4” in 2 x 2 rib
33 sts and 44 rnds = 4” in Cable and Eyelet pattern, relaxed after blocking

NEEDLES
One 16” circular needle and one set of double pointed needles (DPNs) in size needed to obtain cable and eyelet stitch gauge
DPNs or long circular needle for magic loop will be needed to complete crown shaping
Suggested size: US 2 ½ (3.00 mm)
Needles one size smaller than gauge needle for ribbing
Suggested size: US 2 (2.75 mm)
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge

Stitch marker, darning needle

FINISHED DIMENSIONS (after blocking)
Brim circumference: 19” to fit 19 ½ to 23” head circumference
Hat circumference: 24” at widest point
