Dolcetto

A simple, elegant hat for a rare and beautiful yarn. DOLCETTO begins with a rolled hem to frame the face then forms a double hem to keep the ears extra warm. The main body of the hat is worked in an allover cable motif and shaped within pattern.

YARN
1 skein sport weight Cashmere People Cashgora (100% Handspun Cashgora; approximately 260-359 yds/100g)
Sample used approximately 220 yds of a 290 yd skein.
Shown in colourway Borscht spun by Mohira

GAUGE
21 stitches and 38 rounds = 4” in stockinette stitch on Brim Needle
30 stitches and 32 rounds = 4” in charted stitch pattern on Main Fabric Needle

NEEDLES
Main Fabric Needle: Two 16” circulars and one set of double-pointed needles (DPNs) in size needed to obtain gauge
Suggested size: US 4 (3.5 mm)
Brim Needle: One 16” circular in one size smaller than Main Fabric Needle
Suggested size: US 3 (3.25 mm)
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge

TOOLS
Blunt tapestry needle, stitch marker, cable needle, small amount of contrast yarn for brim join (this yarn will be visible as purl bumps on the inside of hat)

FINISHED DIMENSIONS (after blocking)
Brim circumference: 19 ¼ “ to fit adult head size 20–22 ½”
Length: 8 ½“
